Experience our space

Over the past 20 years, Hotel Alexandra in Copenhagen has carefully sourced a large collection of world-famous Danish mid-century vintage furniture and used it to decorate its 61 rooms. Combined with textiles, wallpapers and other period gems, we take you back in time to experience living as the design-loving Danes did in the 50s, 60s and 70s.

An authentic Boutique Hotel offering local chaRm

Dear Guest,

My passion for Danish mid-century design comes from my grandfather. He was a painter and exhibition director at the Louisiana Museum in Denmark.

What inspired me to create a living Danish furniture design museum where people could stay at the Hotel Alexandra was a single piece of furniture by Kaare Klint.

When we started the collection, it quickly became a passion for my team and I. We had a lot of help from the Danish School of Architecture in terms of how we should treat each piece of furniture and what the stories behind each piece were. Now we are training our staff in the history of Danish design, so that they are knowledgeable and have an understanding of the historical and cultural heritage of Denmark.

The team and I feel very fortunate to be able to share our passion with you. Our aim is to make our guests feel like they are staying with a Danish design loving friend in Copenhagen.

It is our sincere hope to see you soon at Hotel Alexandra.
